In Alishtar, Lorestan province, 20-year-old Razieh Hasanvand, a victim of forced and child marriage, was fatally shot by her brother, succumbing to her injuries on October 13th after being in a coma since October 11th. Razieh, a mother, had separated from her husband, a cousin, against her family's wishes and was facing pressure from her brother to enter another marriage. Her death is among at least seven reported "honor" killings in the past 17 days, as noted by the human rights organization Hengaw, which highlighted the reason for her shooting as her departure from her family home.
