On April 2023, in the city of Pakdasht, Tehran province, Iran, a femicide shook the community. According to the Harana news agency, a 37-year-old woman was murdered by her husband, who cited her relationship with another man as the motive. After a thorough investigation by Pakdasht police, the suspect confessed to the crime, admitting to hitting his wife on the head with a stick and dismembering her body before burying it in the desert surrounding Pakdasht.
Subsequently, investigators discovered the dismembered body of the woman. It was transferred to the forensic department for further investigation. This tragic incident serves as another distressing example of femicide and honor-based violence in Iran, highlighting the pressing need for action.
